The National Service Scheme (NSS) aimed at developing student’s personality through community service was launched in Gandhiji’s centenary year 1969, is an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India . It is an extension of activities of the higher education system to equip the youth with hands on experience of community services even while they are pursuing their studies.
With the Motto of- ‘Not Me But You’, the NSS unit of the college has been training students and providing a platform to be accomplished social leaders, efficient administrators and instilling in them a quality to empathise and understand human nature. This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole.
