The college has a spacious centre for students to enhance their knowledge.

Library is heart of the college. The library is fully computerized with library management software “E-lib” to achieve accuracy and speed up transactions. The software supports multilingual and barcode technology. It has designed to meet the academic needs of the students. As a knowledge hub, it provides access to various information resources ranging from the latest books, text books, career guides, and reference books. Its prompt and effective services are in sync with the changing needs of academic community which is moving towards the electronic resources such as e-books, e-journals through the N-list consortium and www.csisccdigitallibary.in link access through website. It also offers various services such as Reference, Circulation, Photocopy ,Online Catalogue Service, Current Awareness Service by providing new arrivals of books and magazines through the TV screens.

The M.Com wing has a library meant exclusively for PG students. The students can borrow books for reference. The library also has projects of the previous students that would be of great help for students who are undergoing their project work.

  • To provide necessary resource in various fields of research.
  • Quest for excellence and inculcating values in students.

Resources

Books :

  • The Library has a collection of 23,780 printed books and access to nearly 1000 e-books through the N-List Consortium, which supplement the curriculum course content.
  • The library purchases books which are recommended for reading or appear in course outlines and also suggested titles by the user community. The books are selected from both academic areas like Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Management, Marketing and general books like fiction, non-fiction, career guides, light reading,  which cater to the needs of whole reading community.

 

General Rules of the Library:

  1.  No book can be taken out of the library without the knowledge of the Librarian and until it has been entered in the issues register.
  2.   One book will be issued to each student for a period of 15 days.
  3.  A fine of Rs. 1=00 per day per volume is charged for the books returned after due date.
  4. Books marked as reference books (Dictionaries, Encyclopedias) will not be issued except for use in the library.
  5. Books will be issued only on presentation of the smart card.
  6. Users should get the items duly issued at the Circulation Counter and collect them in person
  7. The students are required to possess their smart cards while inside the library.
  8. Books issued from the library should be used with every care and in no case be disfigured or damaged. At the time of the issue of the book the student himself/herself must check whether the book is disfigured or damaged otherwise the student will be held responsible for the damage.
  9. The books will be returned at the time of collecting the Hall Tickets, failure to return the books will result in withholding of the Hall Tickets.
  10. Any rude behaviour with the library staff will be dealt with seriously.

 

        Lost/Damaged books:

  • The loss of book should be reported to the librarian before the due date and usual fine will be charged till the book is given back..
  • The users should replace the book at their own cost within 30 days.
  • If the user fails to replace the book within the stipulated time, the Library would initiate the purchase and would be charged the actual cost of the resource plus 20% the additional.

Services and Facilities:

The Library primarily serves the community of students, faculty and staff.

Circulation Policy:  Library has a huge collection of text books, career guides, journals, magazines, audio-visual material, newspapers which supports the needs of students, faculty and staff of college. Users must produce the valid smart card for all circulation services. Library circulation uses E-Lib Library Management Software for check in and checkout of library books.

Reprography Service:

Photocopying of material is available to our students, faculty and staff for personal use on payment basis. Charges for reprography is Rs2/- per A4 sheet- Academic journals, Magazines or Newspaper clips.

Current Awareness Service:

Display of newly added books, periodical, events of the day, quotes and news clips through the TV Screens.

Reference Service:

Library provides reference books to the students. These books are used in the library premises.

Periodicals Section:

Library has a separate periodical section. We display all available magazines and journals.

Internet Center:

Library houses an internet center which facilitates free internet service to the students.

 

OPAC –Online Public Access Catalogue - Students and faculty can access library catalogue through the OPAC.

The library advisory committee plays a prominent role in the overall development and management of the library.  The main functions of the committee are:

  • Proper utilization of the funds allocated.

  • Recommend required books and journals.

  • Up gradation of library with modern technology.
