A PROFILE OF BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (B.Com.)
The degree helps to provide the student with a wide range of managerial skills while at the same time, building competence in a particular area. Our University therefore designs the course curriculum suiting to the current trends. The students are exposed to communicative skills, quantitative analysis, professional skills, practical knowledge of banking operations, financial institutions, Insurance sectors, share market, computer skills, and professional ethics, etc. The curriculum thus revised from time to time and focuses both on practical business subjects, such as Accounting, Income Tax, GST, Management, Marketing, Finance. CBCS was introduced from the academic year 2020-21. This was followed soon after with the introduction of NEP scheme from the academic year 2021-22.
A B.Com graduate may pursue the Master of Commerce, or other post-graduate masters programs such as the Master of Finance (MFin), Master of Accounting (M Acc), Master in Business Administration (MBA). The degree is usually recognised by the various professional accounting bodies, and graduates therefore often pursue accounting designations such as the Chartered Accountant(CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), or Financial qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Company Secretary (CS).
