The college celebrated National Sports Day on 29 August 2025 at 10:00 AM in the College Sports Room. The event was organized in remembrance of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player.
The celebration began with the college principal, Dr. (Smt.) Kamala Dhawale, garlanding the portrait of Major Dhyan Chand. This was followed by an address by the college Physical Director, Shri Raghavendra Churi, who highlighted the life and achievements of the hockey icon. He informed the gathering that Major Dhyan Chand, originally known as Dhyan Singh, represented India in the 1928, 1932, and 1936 Olympics, leading the hockey team to three consecutive gold medals. He also emphasized that Dhyan Chand was the first sportsperson to receive the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, for his outstanding contribution to sports. His legacy continues to inspire generations. which is why his birthday is commemorated as National Sports Day across the country.
The program was attended by the faculty of CSI College of Commerce. The event commenced with the college prayer led by Shri Asif Toragall, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Stephen Williams. The ceiebration was meaningful and inspiring.
